Cast on even amount of stitches

BK2Tog: Brioche knit two stitches together (= 1 knit stitch + the yo from the previous row)

Brioche in the round
Cast on even amount of stitches

set up row: *yf sl1yo, K1*
​
Row 1: *BRP, YF SL1YO*
Row 2: *YF SL1YO, BRK*

BRP or Brioche purl, aka a 'burp': purl the next stitch and the yarn over together

BRK or brioche knit: knit the next stitch and the yarn over together



Herringbone
Repeat of 2 rows

Use needles about 2 sizes larger for your yarn
​
Cast on an even amount of stitches
​
Row 1: Insert needle into 2 stitches as if to K2Tog, wrap yarn and pull yarn through. Slip off only 1 of the 2 stitches. Repeat until one stitch left, K1.

Row 2: Insert needle into 2 stitches as if to p2Tog, wrap yarn and pull yarn through. Slip off only 1 of the 2 stitches. Repeat until one stitch left, p1.

K2Tog vs SSK
K2Tog: Knit Two stitches together;
a right slanting decrease

SSk: SLip, slip, Knit;
A left slanting decrease




Step 1
Insert your right needle into the stitch on your left needle through the front loop

Step 3
Pull the yarn through the stitch, but don't let the stitch on your left nee

Step 5
Insert your right needle in the stitch again, this time through the back loop

Step 7
Pull the yarn through the stitch

Step 2
Wrap your yarn around your right needle

Step 4
Tip/Angle your left hand or needle forward a little so you can see the back of your work

Step 6
Wrap your yarn around your right needle

Step 8
Slip the stitch from the left needle off the needle


C1B or 1/1 ​RC

A right-leaning Cable with 2 stitches. Below are instructions with accompanying photos with and without cable needle.

Step 1 with cable needle
Slip 1st cable stitch onto cable needle.
Step 3 with cable needle
Knit the 2nd stitch of your cable.

Step 1 w/o CN
Insert your needle into the 2nd stitch of your cable.

Step 3 w/o cable needle
Place 1st stitch back onto left needle.

Step 2 with cable needle
Hold cable needle to the back. Keep the yarn over, and not under, the cable needle.

Step 4 with cable needle
Knit the stitch from the cable needle.

Step 2 w/o CN
Slip both stitches from left needle.

Step 4 w/o cable needle
Place 2nd stitch back on left needle. The 2 stitches have now switched places. Knit both stitches.
